How the Class Works

Students drive, teachers coach

Class Mode

In-person and virtual learning, on a digital platform that can be accessed anywhere, anytime online.

Teaching Mode

Teachers facilitate or coach students depending on their learning skills and learning needs.

Learning Mode

Students set their own learning goals, accomplish their tasks and plan their next goals. Advanced students explore topics to develop their own specialised skills and interests.

🏆 Competitions

Prime students get the opportunity to join competitions and put their skills to the test.

🤝 Partner Organisations

Learn with partner organisations — citizen science, tech internships, and volunteering.

🎪 Co-organise Events

Students are given responsibilities to co-organise events and programmes together with teachers.

The Learning System

A map of skills, not a syllabus to sit through

Prime is built as a skill tree. Fields like Web Development, 3D Printing and Data Science are broken into topics, each mapped by prerequisites — so a student can always see what they've mastered, what's unlocked next, and what a goal requires.

Want to build a website that talks to a database? The path is visible: web fundamentals → HTML → CSS → JavaScript → APIs. Students plan their own route through it, at their own pace — that's the "learning how to learn" muscle being trained every single week.

Where topics don't depend on each other, students choose their own order. Where they do, the sequence is deliberate and explained — the same way real expertise is built.

The final level of every topic is never "do what the teacher picked." It is always: design something of your own, explain your choices, and collect feedback from peers.

Every topic is mastered in four tiers

Tier 1 · Recognise

Name the parts

e.g. correctly label the components of a 3D printer, or identify the basic shapes every 3D model is built from.

Tier 2 · Explain

Teach it back — without notes

e.g. explain the 3D printing process in three steps from memory, using your own analogies: "union is like gluing, subtraction is like carving."

Tier 3 · Apply

Use it on something real

e.g. open a real website's developer tools, read the network traffic, and explain what a 404 error means — or model a working pencil holder in CAD and export it for print.

Tier 4 · Create

Design something original

Define your own real-world problem, build the solution from scratch, write up your design decisions, and gather written peer feedback. Proof of mastery — not a grade on a quiz.

Skill Path · 3D Printing

From broken-toy idea to a working print

Start with a why

"Your favourite toy breaks and can't be replaced. What if you could design it and hold a new one within hours?" Students first understand the point of the technology — then earn the right to use it.

Design with real constraints

A student designs a phone stand from scratch in CAD — and justifies it in a design document: "I chose a thick base because printed plastic is light, so it needs weight to avoid tipping."

Prepare like an engineer

Scale the model to the printer bed, orient it to minimise supports, estimate print time and material cost before committing two hours of plastic and electricity.

Diagnose the failure

The print warps at layer 45. Instead of giving up, the student reasons through the cause — bed temperature, first-layer adhesion — fixes it, reprints, and documents what they learned. That reflection is the real curriculum.

From "how does the internet work?" to a live portfolio

Look under the hood

"You tap a video and it plays in under a second — how?" Students open a real news site's developer tools and watch 50+ network requests fire, learning to read what the web is actually doing.

Build something that's theirs

Each student builds a multi-page personal portfolio — their bio, their projects, their contact page — written in real HTML and CSS, structured so screen readers can navigate it too.

Make it respond and interact

The portfolio adapts to phone, tablet and desktop; a dark-mode toggle and form validation are written in JavaScript by the student, not copied from a template.

Work like a professional

Work is tracked in Git with meaningful commits, developed on branches, and merged after peer review — the exact workflow used in real software teams.

Aligned to international standards

Topics are mapped to the CSTA K-12 Computer Science and ISTE student standards — the frameworks used by leading school systems worldwide.

Engineered, audited, revised

Every topic follows one rigorous design template, and the curriculum is formally reviewed for gaps, sequencing errors and difficulty jumps — the kind of auditing publishers do.

Evidence, not just grades

Mastery is demonstrated with artefacts — labelled diagrams, recorded explanations, exported models, working sites — so you can see exactly what your child can do.
